A Question
Why do I ask…?
Who am I…?
And why am I here…?
Do the rays of the rising sun
Traveling down millions of miles…ever ask,
Why do they give light to the earth?
Do the leaves of a lone Maple tree
Magically dancing in the wind…ever ask,
Why do they produce music?
Does a glinting speck of sand
Lying forever in the blazing desert sun…sigh,
Why…why…is it not on a cool place?
Do the endless waves of ocean
Pounding on the beach… ever wonder!
Why are they so restless?
Do tiny little rounded pebbles
Rolling down a mountain slop… ever question,
Why are they not on the mountain top?
Do the limitless galaxies of the Universe
And a Universe of the Multiverse… ever deem,
What are they? Why are they there?
Then why do I ask?
Who am I?
And why am I here?
A sudden feeling of connection,
A miraculous merger with everything,
Fills the essence of my being
With bliss beyond description
And the question of ‘WHY”
Fades away into the cosmic nothingness.
It makes me smile…just smile
I am…I am a wave of the ocean,
And a speck of desert sand.
I am a flower of a thorny cactus,
And a thorn of a branch of roses.
I am the peak of a majestic mountain,
And a pebble rolling down the hill.
I am part of a roaring thunder,
And a soft flake of falling snow.
I am everything and nothing
At the same time…
I am eternity!!!
