1.
Words are not my friend

Words are not my friend,

As they desert me when I start to speak,

Wait, now, what was it I was trying to say?

They are gone, when I need them to repeat.

Hiding in the deep crevices of my mind,

In those places that I never go near.

Maybe because they like to play

A game with me that I always fear.

Lost to me when I need them the most,

Then they return at night as a special host.

Ah! This is what I wanted to say,

When you attacked me as I was on my way.

Words, what should I do with you then?

Wait let me capture you with my pen.

2.
Drift Away

Snowflakes drift aimlessly in the dank still air

Almost like the thoughts in my mind.

I put out my hand trying to grasp them

But they seem to disappear on my palm.

One little flake captures the attention of my eye

I follow its trail till it blends into the ground.

Off they go on a mission, my wandering eyes

In search of another floating piece of fluff.

Haunted in this undertaking of continuous repetition

Almost anything is better than the dreaded apparition.

That defies every acceptable notion of pretense

And flees from the fracture that is so intense.

I do not like to saunter into this field of thought

So I bring myself back to the stillness of the space.

I can feel the cold creep into my soul as it wanders

Into the whiteness of the snowflakes drifting by

Aimlessly in the dank still air.
